What to Wear for Your Mini Session

October 30, 2026 · Snap for Less — Hagerstown

The most-asked question before any session, answered the way we'd answer a friend: wear what makes you feel like yourself on a good day — with four rules that make photos love you back.

1. Coordinate, don't copy. Identical outfits read as a uniform. A palette reads as a family. Pick two or three colors (navy + cream + rust, sage + denim + white) and let each person wear their own version.

2. Solid colors beat busy prints. Small patterns are fine; giant logos, neon, and wild graphics steal the scene. At our parks — City Park's greens, Fairgrounds' open sky — earth tones, jewel tones, and classic neutrals photograph beautifully.

3. Dress for the location and the weather. Park paths mean shoes you can walk in. Layers win in Maryland spring and fall: a jacket you love beats shivering in a perfect shirt.

4. The mirror test. Two minutes, full outfit, shoes included. If you'd be happy running into an ex, a boss, and a camera in it — that's the outfit.

Couples: dress to the same level of fancy. Seniors: your session includes one outfit change — bring one classic look and one that's pure you. Then book the session and let us worry about the rest.
